She holds a BSc in Biological Science and a PhD in Environmental monitoring and methods. She has been teacher of “Animal ecophysiology and ecotoxicology” at the University of Trieste since 2004. Her research mainly focuses on physiological responses of invertebrates to environmental stress. Major activities include Ecotoxicology, stress response, ecophysiology and immunology of marine invertebrates (in particular of Crustacea).
