RWE - Thielemann Thomas

After studying Geology in Münster and at Imperial College London, Thomas Thielemann completed his PhD in Geology at the University of Aachen. His thesis was on the balance of methane and carbon dioxide exchange across coal-bearing sedimentary basins. He then spent five years as an energy resources consultant with the German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) in Hannover as well as with the German Ministry of Economics in Berlin. He now works for RWE Power AG in Cologne on the whole carbon value chain, from lignite mining and CO₂ transportation to the exploration of CO₂ storage sites.
