You are invited to participate to a short questionnaire and to a Discussion Laboratory on CO2 storage impacts, organised by the RISCS project of which CO2GeoNet is a partner. RISCS is a European research project which aims to improve our understanding of the possible environmental impacts of the geological storage of CO2.
The proper conditions for the wide implementation of this technology are currently being defined and a careful evaluation of the safety issues is needed to improve operational procedures and set appropriate legislation and monitoring.
The contribution of all stakeholders having a range of different perspectives, your contribute, is very important at this stage, to help identify and clarify the important issues that must be addressed to ensure the safety of a CO2 geological storage site.
We will be very happy to receive your contribution, which you can give by answering a short questionnaire at this link:
and we are also pleased to invite you to a Discussion Laboratory on the same topic, where you will be able to exchange views with the RISCS researchers and other stakeholders, which will take place in
Brussels on the 14th March 2012
Venue: ENEA EU Liaison Office, Rue de Namur, 72 - 1000 Bruxelles.
Draft Agenda
11.30 - 12.30 registration and lunch
12.30 - 14.30 The RISCS project and how to address CO2 geological storage impact issues
14.30 - 15.00 break
15.00 - 17.00 Leakage scenarios and safety/environmental issues
Your input will contribute to the development of a Guide for CO2 geological storage impacts appraisal, the project’s final deliverable and tool to be widely used for assessing possible impacts related to CO2 storage sites.
Thank you very much for your collaboration
